MUSIC: THE PEEP TEMPEL ‘CAROL’

Melbourne 3 piece are back with the first single off their upcoming 2nd Album ‘Tales’ due out on October 3rd via Wing Sing Records.

If this first single is anything to go by, this will be one fucking standout Album of this year. Carol is delivered in trademark Peep Tempel form. It has all the classic hallmarks of the Bands previous work. Loud guitar, frenetic drums laying the foundations for tales of a motley crew of interesting and somewhat dodgy characters. Full of wit, dark humour and sinister after thoughts. Blake Scott’s vocals start calm, yet become increasingly agitated before letting loose towards the end, much like the protagonist becoming increasingly impatient with recent divorcee, Carol.

Powerful 3 piece Garage Rock with a suburban tale played out all too often. Story telling has rarely sounded so good. Trevor sounds like an absolute prick. Maybe one of Lester Moore’s mates?

Just try and get “I don’t think Trevor is good for you!” out of your head after one listen. I dare you.
