They’ve supported the Arctic Monkeys, have gained enthusiastic praise from one Dave Letterman, are signed to Elton John’s management company at the request of the man himself and here’s your chance to see them in an intimate venue.
Influenced by 60’s R&B, Rock and Garage, the Strypes are an incredible bunch of musicians. The Drummer resembles a young Mitch Mitchell (stickman for one Jimi Hendrix), the lead singer looks like a very young and very swinging 60’s incarnation of Julian Casablancas, complete with matching Wayfarers and Haircut. The Lead Guitarist is just phenomenal for his age and the Bass Player….well I’m not going to make any McCartney comparisons, but he’s pretty dam good!
The band will be playing a Splendour in the Grass sideshow here in Melbourne, Tuesday the 22nd of July at the Northcote Social Club. Tickets are selling fast, so get in quick and expect machine gun drumming, cracking solos, harmonica and a stage presence that will have you jumping like Gen Y. It will be the closest thing you will get to seeing the Beatles at the Cavern Club. Check them out on Letterman below:
