Latvia is a place that has always fascinated me. My Father’s family hails from this tiny country with a colourful past. I take a keen interest in this part of my background. Latvian design is submersed in traditional symbols and patterns. Riga is also the 2014 European Capital of Culture.
Laimushka create clutch bags that work well as a statement piece to any fashionista’s outfit. Resembling a small silk pillow, every piece is hand crafted using Italian silk and takes up to 9 hours to create a bag with a touch of European Kitsch and a hell of a lot of style. Each clutch bag comes with a chain to instantly turn the Clutch into a Shoulder Bag.
Nikolay Redin takes old Soviet Era radios (Believe me, there are many laying around in Latvia!), and breathes new life into them. He adds iPod docking and Bluetooth speaker capabilities. Not only are these radios functional, they also become a stylistic vintage piece of Art around your home.
Nikolay works on his Radios in his spare time. They can take up to 2 months to finish, which reflects his attention to detail. Beautiful vintage designs, gutted and fitted out with Modern technology. Check out Nikolay’s facebook page for his inspiration and his etsy shop for his latest creation.

As mentioned, Riga is the European Capital of Culture. Check out the official website and take a couple of mins to watch this video and get to know Riga, a jewel of Northern Europe. Paldies!
